About me

I am a Spanish astronomer currently working at ESO in the Atacama desert, in Chile. In 2008 I became member of the Science Operations group at the Atacama Pathfinder Experiment (APEX) telescope.

I am originally from Madrid, where I started my Physics degree at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Then, I moved to Tenerife, one of the amazing Canary Islands, where I got my Physics/Astronomy degree at the Universidad de La Laguna / Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias. (ULL/IAC).

My "radioastronomy experience" started in Bologna, at the Istituto di Radioastronomia (INAF-IRA), where I worked to get my Ph.D. on the radio properties of radio-loud Broad Absorption Line (BAL) QSOs.

Finally I moved to ESO in Chile to work as support astronomer at APEX. Here, I have experienced extremely dry observing sessions on the Chajnantor plateau, ideal site for sub-mm astronomy. I am also privileged witness of the steady evolution of the ALMA observatory which hosts the most powerful mm/sub-mm interferometer in the world.
