The spirit of this series of informal coffee talks held in Vitacura ESO headquarters is to learn about the ideas and methodologies behind the statistical problems that we have when working on our science. Thus, the main purpose is to understand which statistical technique/methodology is the most appropriate to use for my problem and provide a very brief description of a package (in whichever language) that we can use to apply that technique.
We will learn many techniques to solve and correctly face our daily statistical problems.
The MCMC Coffee is held at ESO Library in Vitacura on alternate Thursdays at 11:00am. Check out the schedule. There will be coffee and biscuits. Come join us to get the most out of your data!
We will learn many techniques related to Bayesian analysis...
(see repository)...clustering techniques...
(see repository)...how to appropriately compare various models ...
(see repository)...get the most out of our data itself... and much more!
