Observational strategy
Two observational setups are being used to observe the full sample:
(1) Compact galaxies in the south hemisphere with apparent dimensions < 4' will be observed using the VIMOS wide field IFU;
(2) Galaxies with wider dimension, or in the north hemisphere, will be observed with GMOS-S&N long slit spectrograph.
Depending of the size of the target, several pointing with identical time exposure may be required in order to cover an area (∼rhalf), similar to integrated spectroscopy of unresolved galaxies. The spatial informations will be collapsed into a final integrated spectrum having a similar signal-to-noise to those used in extragalactic studies e.g. SDSS.
